|sidiag||When I lived in Montera CA 27+ years ago there was a place in Half Moon Bay called The Crab Cottage. I don't think that they had a single thing on the menu that wasn't close to perfect. Does anybody know if it is still there - I'll be out in Monterey next month.|

|sailingdog||Lobsters, clams, potatoes and corn wrapped in seaweed and foil, all dumped in a giant pit in the sand with hot coals. At the restaurant, my favorite would be the baked sea scallops.|

I know it is commercial, but Weathervane is good. My favorite place to chow down on seafood is the Clam Shack just north of Old Orchard beach. Neer Pine Point.
Making it tonight Lobster, Little necks, Corn on the cob and French Fries.

Fish straight from the ocean, fillited and straight on the barby.
Salt crusted prawns/shrimp deep fried, the shell turnes to a brittle savoury and u dont need to peel the suckers.

Last night I had quiche on my mind for supper,had forgotton that i had 2 1/2 pounds of king crab in fridge so it went into a quiche with spinach new york and vermont cheeses.. this was a keeper !

The place is a dive. But some of the freshest, best seafood out there. It has been a local hangout for 20+ years. Sits over the water.
Familiar with Pacific Grove, not familiar with "The Fishwife". Acutally, my best friend (last name "Fishman", refers to his wife as "Fishwife" ). Been too long since I've been down the coast.
