Re: Cleaning the holding tank vent?

Hi,
Thanks for the advice.!
Ours is located just below the deck on the port side, and really almost right below the bow pulpit.
The vent has a small button-like closure on it, so we may have to run the flush from the outside hanging over the deck and inwards down into the tank.
We have to pump out the antifreeze anyway, so anything that ends up in there will
be eliminated.
I guess it will also be a good way of finding out the line leaks, since the bilge will reveal
anything.
Ew...gunk....Can't wait.

Or is there another way to clean this line out?

I don't know if it was the best way, but that's what we did: disconnect it from the inside and send a blast of the water hose up through it. All kinds of gunk came out the other end onto the deck so it worked.

I don't know if it's typical, but on our boat the vent hose on the outside is inside a stanchion so it was easier doing it from the inside out.

I doubt it has ever been done, and would like some suggestions.

Please and thanks in advance.

Only 11 more sleeps til we splash!!!!!
