Re: Tape under mast track to separate stainless from aluminum mast

I've seen plain old vinyl tape used often for this purpose. It's just the right width.

Tape under mast track to separate stainless from aluminum mast

I've got the stainless sail track off of my mast and before I re-attach I'd like to add a barrier between the two to help prevent corrosion.

I'm thinking of using a thin strip of PVC pipe wrap but can only find it in 2 inch width. Does anyone know if plain old electrical tape in much different? Wouldn't both prevent electrons from mingling?
