Welcome neighbor!

Welcome to sailnet. I live in the KC Metro, so I use the term neighbor pretty loosely. I'm still very new to sailing too and have found sailnet a great place for all my sailing related questions. Especially in winter when all I can do is read about sailing and dream.
Good luck with your boat search!

Hello from Nebraska!

Hi everyone! My wife and I have recently decided to start sailing. We have 2 children, ages 2 and 11. We are looking for a first boat to purchase, and will be taking lessons soon. We live on Harlan County Reservoir, in Nebraska. The reservoir is about 9 miles long and 2 miles wide, and quite windy most days. We have no experience sailing at all. We are definately a water family though. We spend lots of time canoeing on our lake, and we enjoy canoe camping.

This looks like a really great forum and such a great resource for information. I hope to make some friends and learn a lot here! Thank you!
