Re: Black Rock Harbor Local Knowledge

I've been to CC a few times. It's as easy as it looks. Note that while the marina is located on the north west side of the cedar creek channel, they also have a few slips on the south east side. You need to ride the pontoon boat shuttle to get to / from the marina if you take one of those slips.

The staff have been very nice each time I'm there.

Note that there really isn't anything on town within walking distance.

Have fun,

Black Rock Harbor Local Knowledge

Me and a couple of friends are planning an overnight from Oyster Bay to Capt. Cove in Black Rock Harbor (We heard rumors that they may have rum there). I just figured out the lat/long waypoints from the NOAA chart and thought it could not hurt to check to see if anyone had any tips on approaching the marina. The channel looks well marked on the chart, but I would appreciate any "local knowledge". Any tips on beverage choices at the dock would also be welcome.

Thanks, Chris
