m37 steering assembly problem

1976 morgan 37 out island. Rudder post is slipping when turning helm. No obvious problem seen. Did not dissemble it though. This is cable steering, not hydraulic. Key is in keyway and cables are fine. Rudder post is slipping inside the steering mechanism. Anyone familiar with it. Would like to know whats not visable that can be broke. Anyone know where i can find a diagram or pics of the assembly?
