I agree with Chef2Sail, the Old Road Bay marinas have great deals and pricing on Winter Hauling and land storage. Young's is only $22.00 per foot round trip and Old Bay Marina is $25.00 per foot for the haul out, power wash, blocking and April launch. Old Bay can handle larger sailboats then Young's and has acres of land storage, both yards have very knowledgeable and helpful owners and are not owned by a big faceless corporation.

Both yards allow DIY and your mechanics as long as they are insured. As an added perk, Old Bay lets you use their trade discounts so you can buy supplies at the same rate the trade does. This alone is a big plus and makes the trip up or down the Bay worthwhile.

In Baltimore Harbor the winter haul out rates skyrocket up to $50.00 per foot. I would guess that Annapolis is just as pricey!

wouldrathersail Annapolis area? Annapolis proper is quite expensive, expand your horizons South 20 miles and you may get a deal. Eastern shore is a bargain.

Check out Casa Rio. They are a DIY yard that allows other contractors. I used them the entire time I kept my boat in the area and loved them. They are great folks. The staff has been together so long they are like family.

I also like this yard because you can work on anything yourself, but they have good staff that can finish if you get over your head, or can do the whole job if you don't want to tackle it yourself.

Casa Rio is in Edgewater, just a little South of Annapolis. They are reasonably priced, IMO. Look at the link below for prices.

Winter storage Annapolis area

Any recommendations on a reasonably priced place to haul the boat for the winter? I'm looking for an open yard so my own mechanic can work on the boat.
