Welcome aboard!

Congrats on catching the bug.

I am new to both sailing and being a sailboat owner. I just registered a 1975 Islands 17, yesterday!
I've been spending some time with a friend at Cooper River Yacht Club, learning the ropes (HAH!) and hope to soon become a member myself. My grandfather was a boat builder but ironically, our family never had a boat. I've spent my whole life longing for one and now finally in my 50's, I have two boats in my life. BF has a 17' motorboat that just got back in the water this past August after being a yard boat for 6 years. While I never had much interest in sailing, last summer on a whim I stopped in the yacht club in Brigantine and started asking questions. One of the members offered to take me out on his day sailer and I've been lusting after a sailboat ever since. Thanks to a very generous friend, now I have one. eeek!!
