poopdeckpappy I find that citrus strip is a equal opportunity striper, has worked well on everything I've used it on

How does citrus strip feel about one pack polyurethane?

Thanks for the confirmation, I thought it would be a bit dodgy, in a forepeak, fiixed bulkhead over damagable repainted bilges...... Back to the Bahco

Tried it and the veneer delaminated.
Had better luck heating a paint scraper as I was scraping the varnish.

Re: Heat gun & veneer plywood

I'd be concerned as you are of causing the outer layer of wood laminate to buckle away from the lower layers. The glue between the layers might, or might not hold fast.
No way to know without trying.
I'd have similar concerns if using a paint stripper.
If it does pull up or buckle you could remove the buckled sections and cover it with thickened epoxy and sand fair.

Heat gun & veneer plywood

Has anyone had problems removing varnish on veneer plywood with a heat gun. On solid timber no problem, just keep moving but does this apply to veneer or is the outer layer too delicate?
