Re: How conecting a Simrad s20 to B&G H1000 system

Simrad S020 display is compatible with B&G H1000 system, and as I posted before, you have to connect the Simrad to the universal box of the B&G, and to 12 V.

I did it in my J105 and it works perfect.

Re: How conecting a Simrad s20 to B&G H1000 system

I have a B&G h1000 system in which the displays are starting to fail. I have been told by by B&G that they are not able to repair them.

I contacted a Simrad supplier about the above posting who tells mme they are incompatible.

Did you get the Simrad units to work on the B&G senders

Re: How conecting a Simrad s20 to B&G H1000 system

Regarding my previous post, the solution was easier than I thought
The H1000 B&G and the SIMRAD S020 support NMEA 0183 protocol.
To connect the H1000 display with the wind, depth and speed, we use the UNIVERSAL box, and the fastnet cables.
However, The UNIVERSAL box has the connections for NMEA 0183 protocol, a pair TX+ and TX- for output and HX+, HX- for input.
So, the solution is connecting the SIMRAD S020 to the TX+, TX- and to 12 V.
This is the way we can also connect a PC to the system, using a serial port.
I hope this information can help many H1000 users, with problems in their displays.

How conecting a Simrad s20 to B&G H1000 system

Helo.
I have a J105 with B&G H1000 instruments.
As one display failed, I bougth a Simrad S20 to replace it.
Does anybody knows how I can conect this display to the existing system?
As I know, booth support NMEA 0183, but the fastnet cable has a
Diferent plug than the input of the Simrad.
