Re: Sailing books

Lots of great suggestions here, and to the list I would add "The Why Book of Sailing" by Scott Welty....it's a great collection of information and stories about boats, sailing, weather, etc. infused with good humor, and written by a cruiser. I've given copies to several newbie sailors and they have all seemed to enjoyed reading it and maybe even learned something as well.

Re: Sailing books

Some good recommended reading. I have quite a few of them. I think you could also add Storm Tactics by the Pardeys. I also found FASNET 10
a pretty good and informational.

If you're after a book that covers near all the bases, I've found The Annapolis Book of Seamanship by John Rousmaniere to be pretty good.

Also appreciate the Blue Book of Sailing by Adam Cort to be pretty good

What are some books that you have personally found helpful?

Thanks!
What type of boat did you buy? Where do you keep it? What are your short and long term goals and aspirations -- dreams? There is so much sailing related reading . . . the suggestions really depend on your situation and interests.
