Thanks! That looks like a blast. My folks have a place in Orange Beach and we've been talking about bringing the Scot over this summer..Mmmm Bushwackers at Pirates Cove. I'll definitely look into the cruise!

Welcome splastico!

Flying Scots are nice little boats, a great boat to learn on. Lots of great info here at Sailnet for sure.

If your interested, there is a cruise coming up in June, the B.E.E.R. Cruise (Backwater, Environmental, Escape, Rendevoux) that would be great fun and I plan on attending this year. I think the past few years they have had over 50 boats join in on the cruise, mostly trailerables. I'll be on my little Montgomery 17 with a buddy.

Just thought I'd mention that since it would be a great time to meet some other sailors who you can ask a bunch of questions too and just get to know. There are quite a few people from LA that usually are there.

Here is a little piece of artwork I made up the other day-

Greetings from Louisiana

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on the forums for awhile and finally decided to introduce myself. I've been intrigued by sailing my entire life. Growing up around boats, and the maritime industry, I've always been accustomed to power boats.

After lots of talk, I finally took the dive, joined the local sailing club, and have met many good people and lots of new friends. I am now the proud owner of a 1966 Flying Scot. I am learning to sail and also getting involved in racing. I can't wait to move up to a larger vessel and the challenges and pleasures that come with it.

I look forward to gaining more knowledge as this site has provided lots of information for me as I am learning to sail.
