Re: Info on Bukh engines???

You can download a Workshop and Users Manual from here.

Bukh DV10/20 engines are Danish purpose-made marine engines - not industrial conversions. Built like the proverbial "brick latrine". They are well-worth re-building where the spares are available.

Both pistons go up and down together, and there is a balance weight on the crank-shaft.

I had a DV20 in my previous boat, and never had a days problem in the 9 years I had her. The engine was 1984 vintage, and it is still going today (well, summertime). The boat is now used for chartering.

I have a workshop manual, if you require any information, should you not be able to download the manuals.

Try this link.

Bukh engines are used as life boat engines..
But I don't know what condition your engine is in.

Info on Bukh engines???

Just bought a 38 Cheoy Lee with a Bukh engine that the previous owner had tried to mess with. The manifold is off and a box of parts sits next to it. He says that he got it started once with starter fluid but it would not stay running. Been apart for a while and after looking at the rest of his handy work around the boat I fear the worst. Is this a motor worth trying to fix as I have never heard of it before and can't seem to find any parts service in the USA. Any info or advice is appreciated.
