Unless you're Arnie you don't manhandle a keel. Build a cradle around it, undo the keel nuts and lift the boat off the keel.

Doing anything else is asking for crushed feet.

Guess I should clarify. Found the bolts, and I'm aware of the resined in nuts that sailor2800 and sloop referenced. Was really just seeking guidance/pointers on how to manhandle a 450# keel. Figured if he'd already done it, and if he's still active, that maybe he'd know what not to do.

There should be an eye bolt of some sort. If you know where the pivot point is you should be able to figure out how to get to em. As far as I know they are not buried anywhere on that boat unless the PO did something funky.

I'm needing to drop my keel for repair as well. Did you figure yours out?

They have probably been sealed in with globs of resin. If you can at least see the bumps where they are, get out the jackhammer!

Just kidding but you will need to get a sharp but unloved chisel and clean away the covering.

If you can't even deduce where they are from lumps in the correct area of your bilge, you'll need to get a pro or a surveyor to find them for you I guess.

I'm restoring a 1978 Spirit 6.5 sailboat, I need to remove the keel for repair.
I appears that the keel nuts inside are covered and not accesable. Anyone know to get to the nuts.
