I'm with you .. except nearest West Marine that stocks packing is hundreds of miles away from Kansas City.

I wonder if my better-half would let me and a couple buddies go on a two week road trip. Isn't the nearest West Marine in Key West!

Here is what I did with my O'day 35, before I swapped out for a PSS seal.
  • Go to the local West Marine.
  • Buy one package of each size packing.
  • Go to the boat.
  • Remove the packing.
  • Compare the removed packing with each of the new packings.
  • Select the one which seems to match.
  • Use the selected packing to replace the removed packing.
  • Return to West Marine.
  • Get your money back in return for the several sizes that you did not use.
  • Go sailing.

Packing Size? O'Day 302 '89

Does anyone know the packing size for the shaft seal for an O'Day 302 1989, standard 20GM Yanmar? Its one of the spring launching projects and I would like have the replacement packing on hand before disassembly.

Thanks in Advance
