From my bedroom window this morning (it was snowing very hard, but the giant flakes didn't show up in the picture):

Also, I'll have to give Pirates Cove a look-see. Reminds me of Smuggler's Cove on your side of the Straits. Wallace Island is another nice hidey-hole near there, and don't forget North Cove (not a very well know/used spot) for awesome sunsets thanks to the lumber mills near Nanaimo.
Pirates has always been my favourite hideyhole. The entrance is very narrow and S-shaped so be very careful on your first entry.

Won't be long 'til this is behind us. (at least that's what I'm trying to convince myself of right now - as the wind is howling and snow is blowing....)

This weekend is my annual pilgrimage to Welland (for a Shipwrecks symposium put on by the Niagara Divers' Association). I usually think of it as my end-of-winter event.

Next weekend is our marina's wine and cheese - the beginning of the social year.

Won't be long....won't be long....won't be long....

Well the Womboat was in the water yesterday to test some new gear then back out again today. What's more it was an absolutely glorious long weekend in Sydney. I'm trying to think nice thoughts of you Fast but it's all through gritted teeth.

Sorry, I love sail trim and I love to learn how to do it a little better, that's all. As you might imagine, I don't sit still for long when the boat's underway.

Easter trip to Ocracoke for us.

The harbor was pretty empty (which is fine by me)

And in Everett, we raced my friend's 1D35 for the first time (Carerra, formerly of the WVYC)

Hit 10 knots on the downwind leg.

Launched the chute right as we passed by a whale watching boat.

Got to see two smelly Grey Whales..

And sprained my ankle right before the start. My foot is purple now. Off to the doctor's later today.

Still.. a remarkable day.
