Well,

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a boat that came with a transfered slip in Oside CA. I do my reserve training next to the harbor, so now I have a fun "condo" to go to when I drill.

She's about sail ready, so I'll be taming her out in the morning and be able to learn her a little. After that I'm sure I'll start posting questions about her.

Cheers!

Those are good looking boats. In their day their cabin top and fixed port detailing was quite unique & striking. It's held up well over the years.

I bought a Spirit 28 last fall. I really like it so far -- much nicer than newer boats in the same category, in my opinion. There weren't too many made, so there isn't much in the way of resources available on the web. My PO had lots of good documentation though, so let me know if you have any questions.

What type of reservist are you? I also drilled in CA (Port Hueneme) back in the day.

Rusty,

I was active for some time (12 years) and have been in the Infantry, back seat of an F-18, JTAC and am nowa Civil Affiars Officer. Winning the hearts and minds....yut

I love my Spirit....I'll try to figure out how to put pics up...

Click "Go Advanced", under the "Quick Reply" box. The "Attachments" icon (it looks like a paper-clip) lets you attach pics from your hard-drive; they will appear as clickable icons at the bottom of your post. Alternatively, you can get a freebee picture posting account, post you pics to that, then link to them using the "Insert Image" icon (it looks like a little pic of a couple of mountains). The latter method embeds the pics within the post itself, rather than at the bottom.
