Re: 3/8 npt to 5/8 barb

3/8 NPT is 0.675 inch OD. That's just a little larger than 5/8". If I could find a bronze 3/8 NPT nipple, I'd just slide the hose on and double clamp it.

Re: 3/8 npt to 5/8 barb

I have been using type 316 stainless for 40 years, with no problem.

Re: 3/8 npt to 5/8 barb

I thought one should not use brass with salt water. Use bronze with salt water or plastic.

Re: 3/8 npt to 5/8 barb

Looks like the OD of your 3/8th pipe thread is the same OD as your 5/8th barb. So a 3/8th pipe nipple with grooves ground in one end should do the trick.

yeah, hamilton is one of the first sites i checked. but being that i need these for the raw water pump, i'm avoiding brass.

Re: 3/8 npt to 5/8 barb

You are going to want to match the material of the hose barb adapter to whatever the 3/8 npt is mating to. 3/8 is not a typical thread size for bronze hardware so that's why it's hard to find. If it's brass then you can use brass for the application and brass barbs of that size are sold here:

https://www.fisheriessupply.com/midl...machined-brass

Otherwise, you might try Grainger Industrial Supply - MRO Supplies, MRO Equipment, Tools & Solutions They have a good selection of all sorts of fittings.
