Re: Going through withdrawal...

I miss all my friends in the Chat Room. I went sailing yesterday for about four hours, hoped to sneak over to the Bohemia and visit with Ferret Chaser (Michael), but alas the wind died at the mouth of the Elk River, so I motored back to the Susquehanna. It was a bit chilly out there while sitting in the shade of the bimini, but there were some diehards that ignored the temperature and were dressed in summer mode. Love those string bikinis. Makes me wish I was young and single again.

BTW: for those of you that intend to venture up to Havre de Grace in the near future, the old channel has been dredged to a depth of 18 feet. Problem is, the person who put the buoys in place must have been stoned. Some are nowhere near the channel, and some are on the wrong side. Follow the old channel (dotted lines) on your GPS/Plotter and you'll be right on the money.

There is a new island surrounding Fishing Battery Light, one created by the recent dredging spoils. It looks neat, but there are signs every 100 feet or so that I cannot read from the channel. I suspect they probably say "Keep Off" or "No Trespassing."

The red buoy directly across from Fishing Battery Light is off station. It's on the wrong side of the channel!

Good Luck,

It's the middle of May & we're still lighting fires in the woodstove to take the chill off. It's just not right...

Gary, now would be a good time to start a cauldron of kahlua. You'll soon be with a new crop of people who have not sampled your stock. (GREAT with hot chocolate.)

Hey. I learned my lesson when I was playing with the Boot button. Took more work on my part to get you back than it was worth.

Re: Going through withdrawal...

FWIW, I hate the chat feature. On my computer it always "forgets" that I have turned it off, and tries to take over my screen.

And on my Android phone there is NO WAY to turn it off because its pop-up menu is so long that it goes beyond the top and bottom of the screen. There is no way to get to the icon to turn it off. On those occasions when chat decides to pop up, I can't use Sailnet on my phone. As smartphones start to dominate as the primary communication tools, this problem will cause Sailnet to lose traffic.

I say good riddance to the chat feature.

Re: Going through withdrawal...

"It appear as though the company that provides our Chat feature recently updated their software and now one of their modules is being 'mis-classified' by Norton/Symantec and possible containing a virus. Until they have this resolved we have de-activaed chat. We've opened a support incident with Envolve and they will hopefully have this corrected soon."
