Monitor VHF ch. 16 that day. You will hear other boat captains grumbling about when and where they will let you pass under the bridges.
Best to be on the side of the bridge you want to be on that day. By late afternoon things start opening up.
They have been doing this event for quite a number of years so locals are usually quite aware of what is going on.

Gee, that clears it up - I have to search through a 58 page document in 8pt type that covers all the way from Barnegat Bay, NJ to Virginia, and then some? I would think some local news would be a better way of notifying boaters about this.

It is listed in the District 5 Local Notice to Mariners publication each year (for a few months leading up to it). You can find all events for which the CG sets up safety or restricted zones towards the end of the publication, which comes out each week.

Bay Closed near Bay Bridge June 9th?

I stumbled across some information that due to the Chesapeake Bay Swim, the area near the Bay Bridge is closed to all boat traffic on June 9th. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

I find it disturbing that it isn't better "advertised" to the boating community, there isn't even any mention of it on their website that I can see easily Home of the Great Chesapeake Bay Swim.

We are headed near the bridge that weekend, hope this does not mess up our plans.
