Re: Raymarine AIS not working

Thanks all, I was able to figure it out after a lot of mean stares at Wifey and a lot of cussing. She reset the system to the original settings. The Comm Port speed needed to be reset to 3600 I think or something along that. I was wondering why coming into Mystic with all kinds of boats, ferries and ships no one had AIS. WTF!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Raymarine AIS not working

Only a suggestion, but are you sure there are AIS targets around you? When I first installed my A50 I actually thought is was not functioning when in reality there were no targets in range. Just a thought.

Re: Raymarine AIS not working

I think I read somewhere on that system that you have to power down and then sail in some little circles to reset everything. I am sure you probably already knew that and did it, but if you did not yet, then try it.

You might also plug and unplug all the connectors after you power down to make sure you discharge any residual charge in the system, and try it more than once before you get too frustrated with it.

Wifey's can be fun, they add to the excitement on board in wonderful ways hehe.

Raymarine AIS not working

Wifey started pushing buttons on my Raymarine A Series Chartplottter and one of the things not working is AIS. The AIS 500 Class B still has a green lite (working properly) but the chartplotter shows "No AIS" which means no GPS fix? Any ideas?
