Re: What is the make and model of this boat????

Capta has it right - either Rhodes or S&S - I lean to S&S because most of the big Rhodes were canoe sterns. Sea Diamond/Fandango is one of the only huge sailboats I've ever truly lusted after. When it was a Caribbean charter boat I used to read the ads & dream of owning it, complete with the Baccarat crystal glassware. I gave up the dream when I realized I couldn't afford the varnish for the spars.

I wonder how much a drum of varnish IS these days?

Well, by the look of that freakin' jib, looks like the owner of this thing is, as well:

Not sure I've ever seen a 'symmetrical genoa' before... That's right up there with the backwinded one in the Viagra commercial...

For the record, Ralph Lauren is a power-yachter.

Sorry, forgot to add picture; Sea Diamond, though a doubleender, you can see the similarities.

Definitely not Jongert (they have a larger stern, many with the saloon aft and portholes on the stern) or Sangermani custom yawls; it is a ketch! Both the manufacturers above use aloy spars. Most have Sitka Spruce masts and booms.
There should be several for sale on Yachtworld, but they ain't cheap.

Could be one of the Sangermani custom yawls.

Re: What is the make and model of this boat????

The motor sailor pictured is probably a Rhodes or S&S design, built in steel, usually by Burger or a Dutch yard. They ranged from 85' to a bit over a hundred and quite a few were built in the 50's and 60's; they were the "mega-yachts" of their day.
Remarkably good sailing boats for a motor sailor, some drew as much as 18' with the board down. Often powered with two engines, but with only one rudder (amidships) they were a bit trying to maneuver in tight quarters.
Hope this helps.

Is this a modern boat? It has a huge overhang aft. I don't see this often on newer boats but then again I don't often look at 80'+ foot boats.

Re: What is the make and model of this boat????

Its a "Beneteau Last." Sorry, kidding. Its a custom builder design appearing to be in the 80 ft. to 130 ft. range. Yachtworld has several large ketches and yawls listed in that range on the market. I don't think it belongs to Ralph.
