Re: 86 Pearson 39 Access to Steering Quadrant

Thanks, but my aft cabin has a little different configuration. the aft bulkhead is bolted in one corner but it doesnt look like it is made to be removed i must be missing something as i cant believe they would not allow some access to the quadrant

Re: 86 Pearson 39 Access to Steering Quadrant

I have a 1986 Pearson, but it's a much smaller model.

On my boat you get to the steering quadrant through an access panel in the ceiling of the aft cabin. From photos of a 1986 39-2 it looks like access might be similar? I'm looking at photo 28 from this boat:

86 Pearson 39 Access to Steering Quadrant

I decided recently to change out exhaust hose and steering cables and trying to figure out how to access the aft compartmenty where all of this gear terminates. On the port side there is a propane locker that blocks access to the area and to starboard there doesnt seem to be any way to remove the bulkhead in the aft stateroom. Looking for some ideas, help or the magic answer!! thanks.
