Re: Please help identify sail boat part

Thanks Folks!
Guess it's not a sail boat part after all, so I was misdirected to find a sailing forum.

Not sure what we'll do with the various parts, except the cleats. The other chromed parts look to be in pretty fair condition.

Thanks again! Happy Sailing!

Re: Please help identify sail boat part

it is a flagstaff off of a power boat with a steaming light and the short poles are the spreaders that go in the holes on the side of the light fixture. they support the staff side stays. anchor light is on top

That is the fwd light mast for a power boat. We had a similar set up on a 1969 Trojan 31 Ours was made from mahogany with a wood wing for the spreaders. The Chromed bronze light mount with the spreaders is probably worth putting on E-Bay in antique boat parts for restoration fanatics.

Thanks JonB.

Just figured out that the one chrome light mount part with 2 cables/poles fits on the end of mast and there 3 support cables off the center chrome section.

Maybe these additional pics will help.

Looks like a mast/flagstaff from the bow of a big powerboat.

Please help identify sail boat part

Just joined to solve the mystery (to us) about what part of a sail boat this is. Thanks in advance for humoring our landlubber naivety.

Someone gave it to us (answered a free ad for a 'teak mast' and thought it would be something very tall to use as a light pole in the yard)...obviously we have no clue what it is and if any part of it is usable to anyone...and just for curiosities sake. We are going to use the 4 small cleats for a project.

Hope I can post pics OK.
