machine shop needed for mast "stepping plate"

Greetings!

I don't know the proper term for the plate, however, it is the deck plate the mast "steps" onto that I need to have made.

Anyone know of a machine shop/rigging shop in the Annapolis, Bowie, or surrounding areas of Maryland that could make such a thing?

We broke it unstepping the mast (don't ask). As it was broken before by the previous owners (probably in the same way I'd say), we'd rather replace the unit with a new piece as it doesn't readily appear to be too repairable.

Thanks!

Sincerely,

It is probably called a mast step... which is also a term that refers to little pieces attached to the side of the mast to help you climb it...

Thanks SD!

I called Chesapeake Rigging - they'll make it for $200. So far they were the only shop that responded, so we went with them. As their customer service was so prompt, I'd have to recommend them to anyone who's interested.

Grass Roots Shop Services

Greetings!

Hello,
I am an experienced machinist of over 30yrs. I operate a small machine shop in Wisconsin specializing in serving inventors, hobbyists and enthusiasts
of all types. I have recently made a complete Masthead assembly for a great lakes sailing vessel which the owners brother had designed for him. Although not familiar with rigging myself, he informed me the riggers who finished the mast installation were very impressed with the craftsmanship of the piece. I work with stainless steel, aluminum, brass and all other materials. I would be happy to take a look at what you need and see how I can help you. Depending on the size of the piece shipping may not be very expensive. I am currently working on a website, I can email you pictures of my work if interested. My email is cduginski@new.rr.com
Thank You,
Chuck
