Re: Halberg Mistral

Try looking at the Cannell and Payne Camden Me. web site. They have some nice traditional boats.

But if the boat is otherwise sound, and you can find the time to touch up on everything, you'll end up with the best-looking boat in the marina & you can take it everywhere. I admit though that I'm a big fan of Olle Enderlein constructions. If you could get it at a real low price now and are able to do most of the woodwork yourself, it could be a great deal? Just be really nasty to the broker/PO, what is the worst that can happen?

TSteele65 Got an email from the broker this morning - the owner is "looking for offers", if anyone is interested. It's a fine boat, just needs more attention than I can offer right now.

TSteele65 That's what is killing me here. It's a gorgeous boat, but you'd go through barrels of varnish every season.

sailingdog I like the Mistral. I was looking at one a few years ago with a friend of mine. She ended up opting for a boat with less teak, as she's not into varnishing.

OK, so other than the obvious pitfalls (teak decks, wood EVERYWHERE), does anyone know about these boats? Sure is a pretty boat, which in my book goes a long way.
