bestfriend Thats it! You got it. Thanks! Now I can start saving my money. They are a blast to watch out in front of Crissy field on the weekends. They really stand up in a blow, must be a full keel. Nice photo Capttb, thats what sailing is all about for me, sail or fall in the water, what a rush. Thanks everyone.
Oh yeah, look here, just did a google:

capttb Yeah, needs to be older, there are Knarr's of varying ages and configurations in the bay with an active racing schedule.

Are we getting closer ?

bestfriend Not an Alerion. This has the rudder going through the cockpit, not off the stern like the Alerion.

I doubt it... it appears to be an older design, with a wooden boom

Gary..now that he posted the second photo, the big blue boat, really looks like one of those Admiral's Cup boats, from the end of the 80's....

bestfriend Folkboat is a modern build of an old design then?

Gary M It looks a lot like a folkboat to me. There were numerous builders and the deck, cabin and cockpit varied but we have quite a few of them and that is about what they look like.

Or an Optimist depending on what picture you are looking at.

The big ugly blue thing looks like and old two tonner ??
