|sailingdog||You should use marine-grade fuel line, not the stuff you get at NAPA. There is a significant difference between the two. IIRC, the marine grade stuff has to pass a burn test, which the automotive grade does not.|

|sailhog||It's an easy switch. Might want to consider changing your fuel line while you're at it. It should be 3/8" and you can get it at NAPA for $1/foot. I just installed a clear fuel filiter between the pump and the carb, which I'm hoping will cut down on the condensation problem. As Cam said, there should be a filter after the tank as well.|

|camaraderie||Ditto...any of the NAPA pumps work fine...just be sure there is a filter between them and your tank or they will clog.|

electric fuel pump
Just go to NAPA and buy a fuel pump the original pumps were attached mechanical pumps so yours have already been replaced

Without knowing your boat make or the mounting of your pump, it's hard to advise you. Are you in love with the electric pump, or can you retrofit the mechanical pump? Usually, access to this part would be from above...is that not possible here?
Regardless, you might wish to investigate "crowfoot" wrenches. They have been a huge help to me accessing engine bolts in tight corners.

I have a 1978 Atomic 4 and need to replace the electric fuel pump. Any tips or ideas to make the job easier, access is very tight.
