Re: 2014 Sailing Season

Relatively warm weekend = go sailing, come home, winterize again. Easy.

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

It is with some sadness that I finally report the winterization of my boat's engine.
I guess I'm done for a while.

I'm going to take this opportunity to do some maintenance on my winches.

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

Well, I'm not going to make Spinsheet Magazine's "Century Club" this season.
I only racked up close to 90 days, so I'm about 2 weeks short or so.

After my Delmarva trip, I got tripped up by all sorts of crap. Hopefully next year will be better.

I got a trailer hitch for my Subaru for Xmas, so I'll finally be putting my Hobie cat to the test when the water is warm enough, as well as sailing the P30.

Also got out. Westerly wind around 5 knots on South River. Mostly wing and wing out. Tacked back to past Turkey Pt., then motored home. Saw 3 other sailboats in 3+ hours.
Planning to sail Thursday if anyone is interested.

Re: 2014 Sailing Season

Jeff_H and I were going to go for a sail on Sunday, but there was precious little wind, so we decided against it.

Sure enough, 30 minutes after I hung up with him, I heard my wind chimes ringing outside, so I decided to give it a try. I had a nice little 4 hour sail in light airs and made it home at sunset.

Looks like temps are going to hit the mid 20's at the end of the week, so I guess I'll winterize soon.

Not much wind on the bay today...somewhat chilly, and not another soul around The family opted for a warm fire at home...something special about being out on your own though. Hit a whopping 2 knots SOG...whohooo

no worries, I wouldn't have had much time for that, anyway... Didn't arrive in Annapolis until almost noon, and there was the usual thrash of going over the boat, getting her fueled and provisioned, and so on... Always a bunch of last minute things to do before Fawcett's or WM closes, grabbed a quick pizza with the broker, and it was time for bed... A night out with you and Dave on the eve of a 22 hour shot from Annapolis to Great Bridge is probably not exactly what the doctor would have ordered, anyway... :-)

Next time, if I have a bit more time free, I'd definitely give you and Dave and Jeff H a heads up...
