Trescool Does anyone have or know of a schedule of when a show will be held like this again either in Newport or elsewhere?

Thanks!

chuckg5 We really tried to be at Newport for this but could not make it.
I've tried looking on the net for photos of the ships but could not find any except for one or two in the newport news.
What happened to our EAGLE, coast guard cadet training ship?
I think the tall ship parade is headed for New York harbor for a 4th parade, true?
beautiful photos, thank you.

Yup... that's about the resolution I need... If you want, you can email them off-forum to me. I'd appreciate it.

TrueBlue Not at all. Sagres was one of the first tall ships I boarded during the 1976 Newport Tall Ships event. She's a very proud ship, just as I remember her cadets to be.

Giulietta TB....thanks man...that was really nice...

I knew the beautifull (to me) N.R.P. SAGRES was not there, because me and Tommyt saw it 3 weks ago in Cascais...the day before we sailed to Vilamoura...and if we saw here there, she could no be her that fast.

But...thanks to the wonders of the net...its as if she was there...because if I am not mistaken it was the first time she missed rol call in the USA..

hope you don't mind I post them here in your thread...

Thanks

The ships are from all over - a description found on this website: Tall Ships - Newport

A brief identification of the ones I have pictured above is as follows:

1. Gorch Fock II - a Barque from Germany. LOA 293', 21,140 sf sail area.
2. Cisne Branco - a Full Rigged ship from Brazil. LOA 254', 23,627 sf sail area.
3 & 6. Taragini - a Barque from India. LOA 177', 10,392 sf sail area.
4. Gloria, a Barque from Columbia. LOA 250'. 15,000 sf sail area.
5. Picton Castle - a Barque from Cook Islands, New Zealand. LOA 176', 12,450 sf sail area.
7. Prince William - a Brig from the United Kingdom. LOA 195', 12,503 sf sail area.
TB: Great shots! I was out there too (both days). It was a lot of fun.

By the way, don't try to say boat #1 ten times fast.
