sailingdog Cut the line on a channel marker, and it will definitely move faster than that Bayfield...

Theoretical hull speed for your 20 ft. waterline is 6 knots.
Downhill, in a gale with really flat water MAYBE... They are pretty little things but they don't move much faster than your average channel marker...

CapnHand A short review here: Bayfield 25 - Used Sailboat Market in Canada If you hit the 'home' button the site has a lot of info on other boats as well as buying boats and boat ownership.

FrankLanger But it will take a fair bit of breeze to get you to 6 knots. These boats are quite beautiful, from the outside as well as in the cabin below. They are very stable, and well-suited to someone who likes stability and isn't in a hurry. In a light breeze, other boats will move ahead and leave the Bayfield relatively motionless.
But still beautiful boats....

sailingdog Hull speed on the Bayfield 25 is a bit less than six knots... 5.94 knots to two significant digits.

michaelmattner Sailormann, so you have experience with that boat?
Do you know by chance how fast it max. can go?

Sailormann Not the fastest boat of its size ... well-built, but it will take you a while to get where you are going...

michaelmattner Thank you for your quick reply.
That's it. It is a Bayfield 25.
Thanks to you this is probably my future boat.
