We, human being, are not as evolved as we think, genetic changes are occurring very slowly. Since the ice age women have been genetically programed to shield the offspring from external threat, meaning a safe dwelling with supplies to feed the children and the man when he comes back from hunting mammoths. In short, women need a safe and predictable environment to feel comfortable which is completely opposite to wandering the seas exposed to whatever mother nature has decided and landing in unknown countries with baffling culture, not to mention the foreign languages. Please exclude the armchair sailors that can hardly leave the marina for a few hours around the cans.
Any opinions out there?
Fair winds,
programming is not same as instinctive behaviour, you forgot that minor point...... rodlmffao
you need to learn about the programming most of the world has undergone as to points of beauty and satisfaction.
if you go out of your way to avoid the programmed and programming, you may just find happiness and contentment.

these can be found anywhere there is NO television .
doesnt matter the locaton or th e environment, families are able to beprotected in any situation necesary. only the accoutrements of the greed and materialism of current lack of values living have been injected into most folks' mineds fromt he continuous programming undergone since birth by external forces--eg, television, interwebz, peer pressure secondary to same--lol....
and you males might try to remember that you as well are subjected to and formed by that programming, as you like the skinny minedless ninnies(aka trophies) that are subject to the greed and programming provided and that formed them and you.
reject this crap and be happy...if you can. is all down to what is inside YOU.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but your style is a little abrasive. Have some egg nog and enjoy the holidays.

By the way, despite what you or I may think of the futility of using this site to find companionship, the title of the subforum in which this thread is posted is "Looking for Companionship." So the Sailnet administrators may have other ideas of the many appropriate uses for this site.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
Lol still too funny. It is what it was meant to be. Abrasiveness has no time limits. Merry Christmas.

Maybe it is the Christmas season kicking in but first you have to be a moron to attempt to use this site (or any other site for that matter) to find dating material? WTF are you thinking? For one if you think the odds are 1 to 1,000,0000 then why are you wasting your time here? Any self respecting woman will see a loser if you have an attitude like this not to mention just using this site for dating. Get out and see the world with little or no expectations and things will work out better. Just my opinion.

Med What's Poseidon doing on your boat? The best suggestion I have is for those guys that live on a boat: learn to do your own cooking and cleaning and enjoy single handing. For those of us that qualify as ancient, this is even more the case.

Fair winds,

I think I agree with the genetic theory of yours. The only difference is that I'm not only able to create a safe and predictable space IN my boat, but I can also slay wooly mammoths while drinking coffee. That's probably why I have such a hassle with shooing away nubile babes all the time...

One in a million odds aren't bad and 'attractive' could have large latitude for someone to cook, clean, stand watch and be a partner. Those aren't trivial jobs afloat. Failure isn't a reason not to try!

Good eyes spotting that! I knew I'd just be motoring that day so I said "what the hell" and left the cypress Adirondack chair on the bow. I bet I got a lot of looks and laughs on the bay that day! I was so sad to have to leave it behind at my last marina; it was so easy to sink into for a nice sundowner.
