Generally a well-made cored hull, like that in the Southern Cross series of boats, will not have many issues, unless someone has done something improperly, like installing a new through-hull without potting the opening and fasteners. The SC hulls were also cored with Airex, and they're very solid boats from what I've seen.

I am new to this site but have lurked here for awhile. I have been searching the web for information on the Cooper 416 and found some threads discussing some of their merits/problems. I am aware of the fact that they use Airex in the hulls but have found little or no information about the layup schedules used. Are there some members out there who own the Cooper 416 who I might be able to contact to ask a few questions. I have contacted a number of surveyors in the Pacific Northwest and apparently the one's I contacted know of no core failures except those caused by poorly installed thru-hulls. I am interested in any opinions pro or con , thanks in advance for you opinions.
