|bubb2||The Icom M72 is an great radio. I have owned one for 2 years and no problems. West Marine has an 12 volt cigarettes power cord under the west marine label for about $10 that will plug into the charging base. This will let you charge radio from an 12 volt lighter socket.|

Instead of lining Icoms pockets and getting a one trick pony...consider one of these...much more useful and cheap!

i just got an icom m72 handheld VHF.
it came with battery charger BC-166 and AC power supply BC 147A.
I am trying to figure a way to be able to use this charger with a cigarette lighter adapter and 12 volt (while in my boat, I don't have an inverter).
I've read the manual and it seems the only way to accomplish this is to buy a new charger (BC 119N) and cigarette light cable CP-17L.
Is this my only option
