Yep, but that is the length from the "empty" end to the jaw. Same turnbuckle jaw to jaw is about 13" minimum.
I just found one that is fork to fork, 9" min - ordered it from online store in UK. It still means I need rigger to shorten forestay another 2". These guys are one of the biggest rigging shops around here and they really don't care much. Their quality of work is not bad, can't say that, but it isn't all that great either. I had to redo quite a few things myself after them.

Anyone has a lead on 1/2" size (wire/pin) turnbuckle that is shorter than the usual sizes? I have to install something to connect the forestay (instead of the link plate that's there now) - adjustable turnbuckle would be nice but the length is only about 9" so turnbuckle has to adjust somwhere between 8-10". All of 1/2" pin turnbuckles I found so far were significantly longer. Fork to fork or jaw to jaw would work just fine.
