Look on Active Captain
and make some calls.
Brewers Greenport has live aboads in the summer and perhaps you could rent dock space from some of the properties in Stirling Harbor.
You might try Matittuck.
Cheap is hard...
Shelter Island... Coecles Harbor perhaps... or maybe Sag Harbor.

|jimmalkin||Don't know any on E'rn LI, but if you could handle S'rn Connecticut, you might want to try Dutch Warf Boatyard in Branford (just E of New Haven.) Good, small family owned yard - they do a lot of wooden boat work and I know they let people DIY. You'd need to ask about "stayaboard." Good luck.|

Liveaboard Marinas Eastern Long Island
Anyone know of any liveaboard marinas on Eastern Long Island? Say from Port Jefferson east? May find ourselves living on the boat out that way this winter.
Or, alternatively, recommendations for good cheap boatyards that allow DIY work while in-water at dock, or on the hard? On Long Island's North Fork? We may elect to rent something small and inexpensive for the winter while we shrink-wrap the boat and do some refit work. Large boat: 62-ft. ketch, 32 tons.
