sarafinadh I hear you about the crappy paint... we have been cleaning, scraping, wire brushing and sanding since July....

We plan on upholstering and veneering almost all surfaces, and will only paint a few spots.

If the deck has unusual give it may be due to delamination, tap around the deck area with a plastic hammer, or the back end of a screwdriver handle.... tap, tap, "thud" means a separation of the skin and the deck core (likely balsa).. you'll hear the difference if there's a soft spot.

It's repairable, but depending on the severity and your plans for the boat it may not be something you'll feel necessary to undertake.

my1972ih T/2 is a great boat. unusual looking. We've owned ours for 10 years and race it locally with great results. We built a storage box with lifting lid which doubles as the companionway step. The box is easily removed for inboard engine access.
You will not regret sailing an old CAL

Cal 27 T2 photos

Howzit Mike,

I just bought an old Cal 27. To find pictures, google Cal 27, then go to listing for Sailing Texas, has most models. One T-2 for certain. Good luck. Mine is a huge project, 1972 Cal27 with raised doghouse. Different looking. Solid hull and stout rigging got me into this one. I'll try post a pic.

Culinary411 I do Mike. Next time I go to check on it in dry storage I'll snap a few pics. Mine is an inboard, is that what you're looking for?

CAL 27 T2 1970's

New Member here!
Does anyone have any photos of the interior of a CAL 27 T2? I am restoring one and the interior of the companion way is bad and I would like to restore it as close to the original as possible. Any help with photos would help tremendously.
