max-on Thanks Sailingdog, I know it's Newport, I just cannot picture where. Oh, continue with the shrink-wrap info, as I am leaving the mast up this winter, it was down last winter.

sailingdog Max-on-

That would be Newport..

BTW, freezing rain is really a bad thing for boats still in the water, or even on the hard... a really good storm can add a lot of weight to the boat—often enough to capsize the boat. You'd be surprised at how heavy a layer of ice from a New England storm can be.

Basically, you wrap the shrink wrap tape around the shroud and the shrink wrap, so the tape seals the top of the opening in the shrink wrap. You'll probably want to use the two-inch wide shrink wrap tape, that kind of looks like white duct tape.

labatt I come back after less than a day and find my topic totally hijacked??? Where the hell are the moderators when you need them!

TB - having never shrinkwrapped before, could you explain in more detail (and/or show more pics) of how exactly I deal with the shrouds?

AjariBonten Indeed, I was just making an observation.

Sometimes that's when the best stuff happens.... witness the "Old Men and Women of the Sea" thread.

Hey, is this thread in the running for greatest "topic drift" ? LOL
The assumption is that labatt's questions were already answered. That gives clearance to do what we want with it . . . (G)
