camaraderie Oyster Creek is a good location for a month in St. Augustine and they will provide a discounted 4 week rate. Not many transient slips available so make reservations early if you decide to go with them.

I agree that Thunderbolt is a good spot in GA. Fernandina Harbor Marina is a good spot in N. Florida as the whole town is right there and it is $15/foot/month.

sailhog At least two of the marinas on HHI will rent to you monthly. If you permanently base your boat at either you can get something like a 5% or 10% discount for paying the entire year up front. At one of them you get a discount on yard work as well.

sailingdog You probably have to ask, some marinas may do it by calendar months, others by week or month duration instead.

Month at Marina

I'm planning on spending a month at a marina in January. The Ball & Chain who is joining me for the month would like it to be in St Augustine. She has friends in the area. I'm not to particular, and wouldn't mind spending the month in GA or elsewhere. My concern is that I just passed in SC on the ICW. I'm not trying to hurry down the ICW.

Anyway, my question is, do marinas charge by the calendar month, ie Jan 1- Jan 31. Or to get the monthly rate, can I show up Jan 6 - Feb 6. If it is the latter, then I can take my time getting to St Augustine. Otherwise, I need to keep on schedule.

Thanks,
Scott
