I know how you feel
I uploaded my picture once on one of those Sites. Later I seen my head on the naked body of Arnold Schwarzenegger all over the internet. Now, women look at me as some sex toy and force their animal desires upon me. I feel so used.

You dropped your guard... I don't think it is a scam... it pretty much says what it is... and if you're not going to pay attention to what you're doing... you'll get taken... besides... when was the last time you saw something that said YOU COULD WIN and it wasn't a scam of some sort. Please... it is clearly an advertisement...don't blame photobucket for your own fault.

For photo hosting, I recommned Image Shack. No sign up, no questions:

I guess the fact that I use Firefox, Adblock, NoScript and Pop-Up Blocker means I don't have to even consider giving somebody my cell number, because I never get asked. Photobucket isn't showing me this, and it's quite possible *they* are being spoofed by a third party or a carrier. It wouldn't be the first time.
Good grief, people, these scams have been going on for the last decade. Stop using Internet Explorer and use Google to install some pop-up blockers. A little education and critical thought go a long way here: would you give your cell number to someone who walked up to you in the street?
DON'T GIVE OUT INFO! CLICK THE "X".

There are plenty of free photo sites out there without all this annoyance.
Flickr is one of them.

Don't tell me that my nigerian prince isn't really going to be "placing the princly(sic) sum of 547,872.96 USDullars(sic) into my autorized(sic) account"...

There are plenty of free image hosting sites that don't want anything more than an e-mail address to create an account. I have posted as many pix as anyone on many different forums and have never paid a cent. The one I like best is Fotolode.com. The only contact I have ever had from them is the occasional notice that the site or service is being upgraded.
Well, OK, there was the time they canceled my account because I had uploaded some album artwork that they thought might be pornographic. But once I explained what they were looking at, it was all good and I was reinstated.
