Standard Horizon DS-1

I just came accross this old thread. Has anyone come up with a Standard Horizon DS-1 depth sounder they would part with? I have one but fried it. I would like to just replace instrument without having to replace transducer. Vertex Horizon no longer repairs this model. Thanks

PBzeer You may be able to have your current control head repaired by SH. They now are known as Vertex Horizon. You can try calling at 714-827-7600. I just sent my control head in last week for my SH knot/depth.

thekeip A) I would buy a DS 1 myself, if one were for sale

B) Sometimes the face of the instrument looks like it's been run through a cement mixer, with all the black background falling away and leaving thething a mess to look at. But, guess what?? If you remove the instrument itself from it's case, you find that the white markings were silk screened on the inside of the glass and may be intact, and the black background can be replaced with flat vinyl. Some very careful work with a new X-Acto blade will restore the window for the display.
Have fun.

ekotopia Hi there. I have digital SL1 . Round , with a 4" cutout and 5" face - that I will sell if I can't find a new impeller for it. It is not in perfect condition the face is blothcy, but fully readable - it just dont look too good.

blt2ski Is the facr trully oval? or round?

I have some older SH round knot and depth guages that are coming off of my 85 Jeanneau in about a month or so. Not sure if they are the Sl-1 models tho!

Standard horizon Sl-1 digital knot meter needed

I am looking for SH digital knot meter...Standard Horizon no longer makes the oval digital knot meter. The face on my current intrument is not readable... would like to locate used face that I can connect to my current impeller. I have a newer depth meter that would like to replace existing face with oval mount before going to rectangular model. Any ideas.. just saw transaction on ebay... for one but I was too late.. tks. Tjay
