TAK I echo Dave's comments ..

I feel very fortunate to be at the Annapolis City Marina.

Great people, great location.

Tumblehome32 Oooh, yes. Eldean's is a nice place. These days I look for wifi and easy access to off-site eateries.

CaptKermie Am I visiting or mooring?
When visiting I like a few extras like showers, pool, sauna, swirl, restaurants, all the ammenities to make for a pleasant enjoyable visit.
As for mooring, well as they say in Real Estate; Location, Location, Location. I want it within easy driving distance from home and I want quick access to the open water and wind. Point Roberts Marina at the 49th parallel in the PNW has the location and they have a website with a webcam and up to the minute weather conditions including max gust, 1-minute gust, and average wind since midnight and all other weather stuff. Just log on and check to see if it is worth driving down for. Actually I can do that looking out my window. They have a grocery market nearby, a restaurant, a chandlery, mechanics, travel lift, laundry, showers washrooms, good security & parking, all the basics one could want but no pools & sauna. For me it is mostly about location.

petegingras paved parking, lot’s of it, not sand & gravel, washers/dryers, must allow liveabords (they're the one's who really watch out for your boat), travel lift, pool is nice, no restaurant (live music and drunk crowds ruin the bathrooms), $ pricy may be a necessary evil for skilled craftsmen (fiberglass, woodworking, diesel/gas, rigging, lead repair), dock hands are not necessary if you’re a good neighbor, if not fenders are cheap, and transient docking to spice up the neighborhood.

Powerboats are fine, cigarette boats should be shunned.

We are planning a cruise up the east coast next year and i am eager to collect good recommendations.
Many thanks.
They're at Solomon's Island, MD, on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the Patuxant River. Here's their website:

Jotun I can tell you what I don't like and have been subjected to often enough: muddy parking lot, filthy bathrooms, wobbly docks, unhelpful staff, shallow slips, and services that are promised to customers but never actually happen. And yes, that's all in one place.
