|southerncross31||I don't know, one of those photos of the museum shows some pretty blue, clear skies.... shouldn't you have been on the boat? Or was that heavy wind thing a plot to keep the Australian off the boat.... I've heard they like to push the limits I also noticed what seemed to be a much smaller more inconspicuous wombat on the floor while the larger more distinguished one is sampling some fine wine! That said, what exquisite interior decor you have G. You obviously have very good taste in many realms of life|

Good people I can indeed confirm that Alex is, well, Alex. I'll post some more when I get some sleep, check up on how the new Womboat is progressing and clear some of the accumulated crap that is undoubtedly waiting for me at the office. Nonetheless as we say down her a 'good bloke' .
You couldn't ask for a better host than the Mr and Mrs G. I know that those of you who have had the pleasure of the buggers company will readily agree.
He really should take a little more pride in his country though . Really Alex, it's not such a bad place.
Cheers for now. More to follow later on.

Nice post, Giu. I really enjoyed the pics. Makes you feel like you were there.

|xort||Those are some really old buildings. Past time for some renovation. In Detroit they call it 'urban renewal'. I suggest you start a petition to tear down those old buildings and join the 21st century.|

So, Mr. W., please confirm for our home audience that Alex is pretty much exactly like his posts in person, only he speaks a lot faster than he types!
You will also have noticed that Fred seems to speak barely accented English. Must be the Cartoon Channel...And that Giulietta is a lovely and kind host, and that Luis has a hard head.
I feel like I'm in a select club...people who've been guests of the Portuguese Ambassador....

See, all Portagee boats have big asses! (g)
One could hardly imagine a better host and guest combination than the Portagee and Wombat. The Wombat's keen interest in history and tradition married with the Portagee's encyclopedic knowledge of matters Portuguese, past and present. My only concern, if in a similar situation, would hardly be any notions of the Wombat desiring to meet the last bedraggled Marxist available locally than that I'd prove deficient in being able to answer a simple question of local history that I'd never thought about myself!
Good luck with the sailing weather!
