Guys, I'm negotiating may next boat and the elected (so far) is a brand new Beneteau Oceanis 43. I have some question about it and would appreciate your clarification, or share of your experience. How you're about the systems, failures, and liveability of the boat ? And more specifically:

1- What brand and power is your windlass ?
2- What brand is the MP3 radio ? Does it support iPod ?
3- What brand are the loudspeakers ? size ?
4- Where they install it belowdecks ?
5- Does showers comes with protection (that acrilic door to avoid wetting) ?
6- What size (Amps) is the extra battery ?
7- Where they mount the microwave ?
8- Does the microwave runs out of the inverter ?

Thanks for your patience ....

Negrini,
seeing as this is a brand new model Benny, I'm not sure there are a lot of people who will be able to answer your questions.
How many have been sold so far?

Good luck with her.

Hello, Negrini.
This are us, Bene sailors.
We need to know the important aspects of sailing - does microwave run out of the inverter, where are the speakers and if the stereo supports iPod...
We care much less about less needed extras like mast and sails.

Just joking, Negrini.
As you are buying new I thought you may get a very precise answers to that from Beneteau seller.

Hey Negrini!

We have a Beneteau 43 currently being commissioned and are very familiar with some of the details (I even visited the factory in South Carolina in February). You can see some of the pictures in our SeaKnots profile.

To answer your questions, the windlass is Lewmar (don't know the power), the house batteries are 4Ds (200 Amp each) and the microwave should be easily run with the 3KW inverter. The radio is a Sony with remote control and an audio input in the front so you can connect your iPod and the speakers below are by the bulkheads (the ones in the cockpit are under the aft seats). The shower is protectred by nice acrylic doors. You can see it for yourself if you search for CanDrac on Seaknots.com

And yes, Bennies care about the minor details because the essentials are so reliable that are simply unquestionable! ;-)

Thanks Candrac

This is quite different boat than offered in France. I'm considering to commision one from US rather. We're just working on importing permits and calculating taxes, but certainly will be a 43. I visited this boat 3 months ago, but we were rushing (hungry kids !!!) and didn't had the chance to check everything. Now that we're preparing the contract, I'm drilling down to details, and came up with these questions, and surelly the mast brand, furling systems sails cut, engine, etc ... are all well known and doesn't have significant changes over years, compared to electronics, for instance. This also will have a different arangement, as I'm ordering the new X pilots and ST70 systems from Raymarine. Thanks for the information .... and believe-me, the acrylics in the bath are something we used to decide for a Benny instead a 42i Jeanneau. Once you get yours, let's share experiences ...
