Quickstep192 Call the folks at Sailrite. If they don't know, nobody does. Seems to me if bird crap can stain it, you should be able to change the color intentionally!

Sailormann It's acrylic = needs heat to fuse the colour. You'd have to take it apart and boil it for a few hours. Only way to do it would be in a huge pot over a barbecue or something... or send it out to a professional dye house. Even then, they are going to have to take it apart to get an even colour.

Perhaps you can just convince yourself that the sun faded it ???

sailingdog I don't think that dyeing Sunbrella works particularly well, since it isn't dyed to begin with. The color of Sunbrella is cast into the material in the manufacturing process. I think you may be able to paint the material, but I don't think it will look very good or last very long.

Dyeing Sunbrella

Probably impossible but maybe someone has a solution:

I don't like the color of my Sunbrella dodger, sail cover, etc. Is there any way I can change it? Specifically, it's a light green and I want it to be dark green. It's brand new. Is there any dye, paint, or something I can do to avoid just replacing it?

Many thanks ahead of time!
