kentg Randall,
WOW, thanks for coming to the rescue!!!! I would be glad to help with the site, but have no experience. Maybe collaborating with Bob Everson at the Canadian web site would be a good idea!

Randall821 The site is back: lender-reviews dot com slash islander

Can you figure that out?

As most of you know, Jim & Barb Gravelyn didn't or couldn't handle the site anymore (can't remember which) so I took it over. I actually rescued it and pieced it back together with the help of our community.

A couple of years later, I too ran into the same problem... the demands of the 'real' world pulling all my time from my pleasures. I gave up the workload of the site (and it was), and saw the pieces being chopped up, and recreated a few times.

I did not know the site was totally gone! I did a 'goog' on my name, and came across this thread - The old site was gone! I had no idea... so I dug through my old hard drives (pretty anal huh? I save all the old drives out of my computers before i toss 'em in case something is ever needed!) and found the old site.

So it's fixed now - up and running. And I'll try to manage it as long as I can, until the next person assumes the role. In the meantime, let's update the owners, and let's get more links on there to other sites about this wonderful little boat. And let's get some event stuff going!

My email address is all over the site, so don't hesitate to shout out. I'll also update it with all the little social gimmicks in play now. I also operate forum software, but this is already a real community, so I'll link directly to this site.

BTW - The host is if you need a mortgage in California, get in touch with me.

And the last time I built this site, there was no way to even have it pay the web hosting fees! Now there is. Don't hesitate to make use of the Google Ad links... and those Google ads are going to foot the bill on supporting this site.

Thanks gang, and look forward to hearing from you. Now go visit the 'new' old Islander site. Tell me what I need to fix.

I may have spoken to him before. Just go to the site, and there is a place where you can send me a personal Email. You don't have to join anything.
I usually respond the same day. Whatever you can use, is yours. A nice link would be nice, but not required. Just let me know.
I was in contact with a guy who was great friends with Joe McGlasson, so I do have a little more information on him than I've seen elsewhere. I'll try to put this guy in touch with you if you'd like. You should try to get the original domain name back. I'd love to see one authoritative site on all things Islander.
There are a lot of them still out there.
And since I get a lot of questions about Islanders, (as though I'm some kind of expert on the subject). I'd love to have another site to point people to.

Best of luck with it.

sonosail I have a bunch of Islander stuff I could contribute should you find it useful.
You'll have to contact me through my site since this system is not allowing me to post PM's.

kentg way back has some data, not all. will keep trying

kentg I sent a snail mail to the owner of, Brian Soderberg to see if I could get the old data from the Randall research. It has been about two weeks and no reply or returned undeliverable. The guys at Islandersailboats.CA are working on rebuilding all of the data. Bert who has the Bahama 30 is a great resource and has given me a few ideas. If I ever get any info from Brian it will go there for posting.

hellosailor You may be able to use the wayback machine at Internet Archive: Free Movies, Music, Books & Wayback Machine or a similar web archive to see the old web pages--even if they are gone now. In which case you hastily save them.

A search on the domain name registration may also get you a contact address or phone number, although you may have to ask them to look up an expired one the contact info should still exist.

kentg I am sorry to say that Brian did not send me the info from the old site, and when I emailed him last night, it was bounced back undeliverable. I have some of the info that I have scavenged from other sources, but will not be able to recreate what he has.
