The tank came out through the lazarette ok. You need to remove the shut-off valve first as it is a pretty tight fit. The new tank cost $300 plus shipping. It is an exact replacement for the original. I am not sure about the baffles. I think that there is one in original. I was was planning on just having the tank cleaned in preparation for an offshore race next year, but when we got it out we found that there were a couple of quarter sized corrosion areas on the bottom that looked likely to fail.

I also have a MKIII
How did you removed the old tank. Will it fit through the
lazarette. I am thinking of replacing mine because of the age and all the possible crud build up in it. What is the cost of the new tank? Does it have baffles?

C&C 35-3 fuel tank
I just ordered a replacement for my 35-3. The original model tank can still be built. They were made by Mirax (US - Arizona), which is still in business. The original tank was model ah20e and can be built and delivered in about 2 weeks. They have limited website support. Your best bet is to call them at: (928) 680-5670

Did you find one?
Did you fine a fuel tank in Canada? I just learned my tank has a leak and was wondering where you got yours. I live in the US but will get it from Canada if necessary. Actually, Canada is only 45 miles from where I live and sail.
