capttb If your engine has a charging system I wouldn't think it worth the cost for LED's for the steaming light.

camaraderie Sailnet carries the Forespar combi unit for $62 bucks.
Forespar - *NEW* ML-2 DECK/BOW LIGHT Shop.Sailnet.com - sailing resources, shopping, sail, blogs

There is also a perko compact steaming light at go2marine.com for $26 bucks.

luckytexan It is already wired for mast head lights correct? If you don't want to use the combo light, there might be some alternate lights available, look in the sea kayak/Dingy area of places like landfall, boaters world, etc. They have some small units that are clamp on / strap on.... What? ... anyway they may have something small that you can find a bracket for and mount as you like.

Steaming light

I'm looking for a steaming light and the ones I've found are rather large/combo units that include a deck light. 2.5 x 6" I think is a little too big 1/2 way up the mast for racing. The stick on my merit is oval shaped as well. I'd like to use LEDs. Any suggestions? I even saw some for $400+ but I'd like to opt for a cheaper solution considering I'll be sailing most of the time. Like less than $50.
