DePlano Thanks folks

Well I should have said satisfying rather than fun, but I am looking forward to fixing it up

Melbournian Hi Deplano,

Glad you bought a boat but sorry to hear that its not what you expected. I am also new to Sailnet. We live in Melbourne, Australia. Couldn't find the boat we want so we went online and bought a Catalina 36Mk11 with just pics and a surveyor's report from Florida,USA We are lucky that we got a nicest person for a previous owner.
Mizan was what we wanted and we loved every minute of it.

djodenda Welcome!... Sorry about the boat.. It will all come out right in the end, I'm sure.

The only thing worse than a boat that is causing you problems, is not having one at all.

Seriously.

Yeah I surveyed it with a hangover, 4 1/2 hours sleep, and than a 6 hour drive. My judgment was lacking and my enthusiasm for getting ANY kind of boat was too strong. Sooo, no. It was my first mistake, more to come. Now that I have it I am going to fix it up as a project though. Should be fun in a boring, tedious, expensive, and messy kind of way

Hello

Figured I would introduce myself.

I live in N. California, near Eureka. I bought a International Tempest a little over a week ago. Turns out I bought a can of worms. I am going to have to take the thing apart and redo just about everything on it, so be prepared for a bunch of questions on that.

Because of my lack of judgement on that I am thinking of buying another dingy or cat to "mess about" in. Mainly just to remind myself why I am working on the Tempest, and partly to have something easier to drop in the lagoons and bay by myself to get practice.

I have a little bit of experience, but if asked I would probably just say none just so I would avoid having someone think I misrepresented myself.

That is a quicky rundown about me
