Yeah they take in D and put out G not much pressure required there. Have done it at home with whiteout.

These are low preasure units, and they are not designed for desalination of saltwater.

i looked up that membrane. it is not suitable for desalination. its actually a ge filter made for refriderators. Reduces salt but does not eliminate.

Not sure if they work by using the pressure that tap water is already under or if they have their own pump. A saltwater RO systems requires a pretty good pump and significant pressure. Also, is there a brine discharge on this unit?

I did find the unit on HD. It stated it uses a "FX12M" membrane for RO. Anyone know if this membrane will separate out salt?

I do not believe these watermakers convert salt water to fresh water. They only remove large scale contaminates and that is why they are so inexpensive.

I noticed Home Depot selling Reverse Osmosis Watermaker''s. They are set up for 110 volts.
However due to the mass production prices. $150.00 for everthing. Could they be suitable
for yachts?
